The Constitution of India was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949 and it came into effect on 26 January 1950 with a democratic government system, completing the country's transition towards becoming an independent republic.

The main celebrations of Republic Day is held at the National Capital of New Delhi, at Raj path before the President of India ceremonious parades take place at the Raj path, which are performed as a tribute to India.

About 480 dancers from diverse genre, who were selected through nation wide dance competition, performed in the parade for the 'Beating Retreat' ceremony at Vijay Chowk on January 29, a drone show with 1,000 indigenously manufactured drones has been planned.
