Ganpati Visarjan Blog !!

A sad as we bid a good bye to our Ganpati Bappa I know everyone will miss Bappa.
Ganesh Chaturthi which was commenced on 10th September 2021 will culminate today on Ananth Chaturdashi or Visarjan the 14th day of the lunar fortnight marks the end of this un forgetful festival.
After his 10-day visit it is time to bid farewell to Lord Ganesh his departure is marked with processions before finally, immersing Ganpati's statue in the water.
Due to the pandemic this year, the authorities have requested devotees to immerse the Ganesh idols at their homes or nearest immersion facility instead of going to big water bodies.
Before the Visarjan ceremony, devotees offer dhoop, diya, pushpa, gandha, naivedya and modaks to the idol of Lord Ganesh.
They perform aarti with all the devotion and thank Bappa for visiting and gracing their homes.
They seek forgiveness for any error caused during the puja with the slogans of Bappa's greatness and request him to arrive next year.
Story Behind Ganesh Visarjan -
It is greatly believed that Lord Ganesh returns to Mount Kailash to join his parents Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva it is also said that when the idol of Ganeshji is immersed in water it takes away with it various obstacles from the house and these obstacles are destroyed along with the Visarjan.
Depending upon the family tradition, Ganesh Visarjan is done on one and half-day, third day, fifth day, seventh day, ninth day or the eleventh day. The eldest member of the family touches the Ganpati idol and gently moves this remarks the starting of the farewell journey.
One must offer curd and sweets to Lord Ganesh as they bid the deity farewell the family together bundles some rice and cereals in a red cloth to accompany him during his voyage back to his heavenly abode.
Eco-friendly Ganpati idols are used this year so that the immersion process is easy and if not possible they need to immersed in the artificial ponds as ordered by the Government.

Today, with a heavy heart grief in our eyes because our favorite Lord Ganesh leaves us everyone will miss him I pray to Lord Ganesh that all the obstacles are wiped out from your home and may he keep you and your family safe and healthy Kyunki chain pade na aamala.

Ganpati Bappa Morya!!!
